Listing of garden-related events submitted by FCGN members
Updated 6/14/2025
At our discretion, we’re happy to share announcements of non-FCGN garden-related events submitted by our members.
Irondequoit Garden Walk, July 20, 2025, noon to 4pm
First annual self-guided tour feauring 51 residenial gardens, 5 community gardens, and the Cornell Cooperative Extension. Free. No tickets required.
From the IGW organizing committee:
“You may be thinking: “How in the world can I visit 56 gardens town-wide in 4 hours?” The IGW Guide/Map will identify each participating garden by address, a short description, a listing of some of the features the garden has to offer, plus an indication of wheelchair/stroller accessibility, enabling each visitor to make an informed selection of the gardens they choose to include in their personalized self-guided tour.
The IGW Guide/Map will become available in early July, with a limited number of paper copies first appearing exclusively at participating Sponsor business locations. The digital Guide/Map will premiere by mid-July at IrondequoitGardenWalks.com, with additional paper copies made available on the day of the event at the official IGW Welcome Stations: Helmer Nature Center at 154 Pinegrove Avenue and Ellen’s Place at 65 Brower Road.“Webster Arboretum’s “Timely Topics 2025”
The arboretum has a full slate of events from March to November 2025 that FCGN members may be interested in. The list is too long to show here, but you can view and/or download their PDF offering full descriptions of the events.
Eagle Bay Gardens, Sheriden, NY
Recommended by Sue Buckner
”A lot of people commented on the redbud 'Carolina Sweetheart’ in my front yard during FCGN’s recent tour of my garden. My friend Ran Lydel of Eagle Bay Gardens has at least one for sale. It is a beautiful garden to visit and also a sales area with unusual plants, trees, and conifers. One of my favorite places to visit but 1.5 hours away in Sheriden. Worth the trip. You can also check him out on Facebook and on the Eagle Bay Gardens website (http://www.eaglebaygardens.net/index.html.)”—Sue
